Working with Chef Robert Thompson MBE

Food has a way of bringing a brand’s story to life. Robert and the team work with a small number of companies each year — cooking, filming, and putting good products in front of people who care about them.

How Robert works

A short list, properly done.

Robert takes on a handful of collaborations a year rather than a long list of them. The test is simple: would the team use it in their own kitchen, and is there something honest to say about it? If the answer to either is no, it isn’t worth a guest’s attention or a brand’s money.

What comes out of it is usually a mix — cooking on location, short films, photography, an evening at Royal Maritime House, or a product Robert has actually had a hand in. The work is made on the Isle of Wight, with the sea in shot more often than not.

What a collaboration looks like

Three ways it usually works.

Product and kitchen

Robert cooks on it, with it, or from it — and says what he actually thinks. Equipment, produce and drink brands that stand up to daily use in a working kitchen.

Film and photography

Short-form film and stills made on the Island, shot for the way people watch now. Vertical, unhurried, and usable across a brand’s own channels as well as ours.

Hosting and events

An evening at Royal Maritime House or a table somewhere else entirely. Launches, press dinners and guest cooking, built around the food rather than the logo.
