This autumn, Chef Robert Thompson invites you to relive the magic of his iconic Isle of Wight restaurant, Thompson’s, with a series of limited tasting menu events.
Known for earning one Michelin star at Winteringham Fields, and then at the Hambrough on the Isle of Wight, Robert now brings together the highlights of his celebrated career with new seasonal inspirations. These special lunches and evenings offer the chance to enjoy refined fine dining in an intimate setting, the perfect occasion for food lovers, special celebrations, or simply treating yourself to an unforgettable experience.
THE WINTER CELEBRATION
From 27th–29th November 2025 at lunch and dinner, the Winter Celebration menu takes centre stage with highlights including croquette of braised oxtail with poached native lobster , pan-roasted fillet of halibut with a warm vinaigrette of clams and venison - roasted on liquorice root, a clementine, white chocolate & stem ginger cheesecake finale.
Each menu is priced at £100 per guest, with an optional supplement for local and continental cheeses, and a full vegetarian menu available. Guests may also mix dishes from menus available on their reservation date.
2026 THOMPSON’S TASTING MENU DATES
We are pleased to present next year’s tasting menu dates. Each date is an opportunity to come & try Thompson's Tantalising Tasting Menu in our stunning cellar dining rooms. The menu showcases Robert & his teams most exquisite expressions of seasonality and craft.
Reservations are highly recommended, as seating is limited.
Menus will be available online one calendar month before the date.
