Colin comes from three generations of farming in the chalkland downs of the Isle of Wight who found inspiration from his mother who was growing crops of garlic thanks to the long hot summers of 1975 and 1976.
After growing his first crop in 1977 Colin has continued to understand and develop his knowledge of garlic, travelling all over the world to discover new species and techniques that have respectively earned him a great reputation over the years and a firm food hero of the Isle of Wight.
“When I first visited the island I met up with Colin Boswell and discussed how I wanted to use the renowned garlic that he was growing, at that time he also talked about the asparagus that he grew as well – I have used both the garlic and asparagus ever since.”
